Accidently two trains collided in Andhra Pradesh on October 29, 2023. The train collision between two trains, the Visakhapatnam-Palasa passenger train and the Visakhapatnam-Rayagada passenger train caused a derailment amongst towns of Allamanda and Kantakapalli in Andhra Pradesh. As per the official’s info, this accident took place after one of the passenger trains breached a signal.

The death toll has reached 14 as several rescue operations are continuing in Vizianagaram district, Andhra Pradesh after the collision of two passenger trains. 

After this accident of the two passenger trains in Andhra Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced an ex-gratia of ₹2 lakh for the families who lost their loved ones and Rs.50,000 for those who are terribly injured from the PM’s National Relief Fund.

In June, nearly 300 people were killed in a triple-train collision in Odisha state. And two months back, at least nine people were killed in southern India through a fire as a passenger went to make tea for himself.

Congress leader & former Railway Minister, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury commented on the Central government after Andhra Pradesh’s train accident. He says that despite the hue and cry made by the BJP  government and across the nation, the Ministry of Railways is really doing something new and innovative.

Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury also emphasises that the government is so much busy with the advertising of the achievements of Vande Bharat but the safety and security of railways can’t be overlooked.

The senior leader asked in a conference, “Where were the anti-collision devices that are used to prevent collision between trains? Now all the government can do is offer a few lakhs of rupees to neglect their  responsibility.

Andhra Pradesh Train Accident: Injured passengers treatment in Alamanda, Visakhapatnam hospitals

As per the info, passengers who are less injured in the train accident are into the first aid treatment near Allamanda Hospital. Those who have been terribly injured shifted to Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam Hospital.

Train accident: Death Poll (14 dead, 50 casualty)

Biswajit Sahu, a Chief Public Relation Officer, East Coast Railway apprised  that 14 who lost their lives in a train collision in Vizianagaram district on October 29, Sunday. He added later on that 50 passengers are injured and 29 among them are admitted to the hospital and others have been discharged from there.
