Christopher Nolan directed the film “Oppenheimer” which is based on the book “American Prometheus”, depicting a biography of a physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer who led the Manhattan Project through which the first Nuclear weapon was produced.
The news has made everyone shocked just before the two days of release of Christopher Nolan’s Oppeheimer, central board of film certification has certified the film from A to U/A rating.
In 2002, Nolan’s Insomnia spreaded the buzz among the crowd and later declared as a “R” rated movie, now in 2023, again we are seeing that kind of craziness in people for the movie “Oppenheimer”.
As “Bollywood Hungama” quoted that the Central Board of Film Certification has cleverly cut some sexual scenes and given U/A rating and still some sexual scenes have retained as it is, but those are not objectionable according to the sources.
The Central Board of Film Certification has muted all the obscene words and not visible in subtitles too.
In a scene, there’s a character Jean Tatlock, played by Florence Pugh makes Oppenheimer, played by Cillian Murphy read the Bhagavad Gita while obscene, which has created a controversy among people as per our sources.
Difference Between U/A Rating and A Rating

Adults or above the age of 18 years are allowed to watch the “A” rating movies as these kinds of movies contain violence, abusive language, sexual scenes, nudity, and drugs, etc. Whereas “U/A” rating movies contain moderate scenes with or without adult themes. These movies do not contain bold scenes in nature. These kinds of movies are allowed to be watched below or above 12 years under the guidance of elders or parents.
