Meta Introduced “Threads App” – A Rival of Twitter?

Facebook always astonished through its innovative notion at the advent of the era of social media, over  the years, facebook including instagram has already several users. Now we can see the outcome of this rivalry between twitter and instagram that features from twitter have been included to Instagram such as hashtags, trending topics, and news updates. 

Perhaps, it would definitely be the biggest swipe of META to compete with twitter in various terms. On wednesday, META launched “Threads App”, which offers room for real-time conversations online that is one of twitter’s core features.

This application “Threads” have ample features analogous to twitter, demonstrating an analysis after the launch of this application. “Threads” is emphasising on the power to create a following and associate people of the same mindset.

Insight behind creating ‘Threads’ application is to introduce us to a public platform to have conversations. CEO of META Mark Zuckerberg has given a statement regarding this application launch that We hope people will enjoy this more by sharing their ideas, opinions, experiences of life. This platform provides the opportunity for users to speak their mind.

Zuckerberg shared his insane experience among people with verified “Threads” accounts that this application passed 2 million sign-ups in two hours  just after the launch and on wednesday, it reached 5 million sign-ups in four hours. People are insanely signing up with threads and “Threads” awakened a sensation on social media handles.  

Accomplishing 1 billion+ users would be an easy thing for “Threads” as we can see that facebook has been used by 2 billion people on a daily basis. Zuckerberg made a statement on “Threads” that we are targeting to achieve 1 billion+ signs-up on it. Twitter might have missed this opportunity to nail it but hopefully “Threads” will make it happen.

Facebook was founded in 2004 and it has been using over the decades it achieved several users from all the generations. It also emphasises on trending and requisite topics which bring people together on the same platform to share their thoughts and ideas. It tries to connect directly to people and pages and it also updates itself time to time with creative features such as creating an avatar, games of questioning & answering your favourite things and locking profile.

If you are thinking of sharing your thoughts on “Threads” then you have to follow a word limit of 500 characters that must be followed. This application will be supported across 100 countries via Apple’s iOS and Android.

META facilitates the users while downloading to ask to link up their facebook and Instagram profiles and pages, allows them to follow the same accounts they are already connected with on facebook and Instagram with some customization. Verified accounts will automatically be verified on “Threads”. It also gives the option to make your account public or private on “Threads” with blends of sharing the existing stories on Instagram, Facebook. Several features are similar to twitter such as layouts, text-based feed, copying-pasting links of other applications.

Since Elon Musk acquired twitter, things have deteriorated on twitter through his erratic moves. Now he is ready to make some changes which will add some value in its growth. On monday, twitter made an announcement that users have to pay for TweetDeck, a tool through which one can easily monitor each activity.

Elon Musk stated that now twitter will also intrude on some of META features, such as encrypted messages etc as followed by whatsapp, and Instagram. The rivalry between these two companies has aggravated the situation between Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg.
